Because roaches can not climb slick surfaces feeding in a semi shallow glass dish will make it so the roaches don’t get lost in the enclosure and you know exactly how many your pet has eaten.

If you have reptiles such a chameleons that like to spend their time at the top of their cage and won’t come down to hunt roaches you can cut a plastic pop bottle in half and hang from the top of the enclosure right in the chameleons favorite hang out. Your chameleons will see the wiggling roaches inside and shoot their tongue right in there to get a bite. The great part is the roaches stay in the container because it is too slick for them to climb out.
